What is Reiki? Rei (Universal), ki (life force energy) is a safe, relaxing, non-invasive, energy healing treatment that works holistically (treating the body, mind, emotions, and spirit), however it is not a religious practice. It is typically done on a massage table, but can be done while sitting in a chair. The patient is fully dressed and relaxing throughout the session. When the practitioner gently lays their hands on a patient, the healing energy flows from the practitioners hands to the patient, wherever it's needed. (The energy knows where to go.) Reiki energy clears, heals and straightens the body's energy pathways, thus assisting the life force to flow in a natural and healthy way. A full treatment takes approximately one hour, but specific areas can be worked on in much less time.
Reiki treatments are used to reduce and/or eliminate pain, release emotional blockages, induce relaxation, and balance the body's energy systems, thus accelerating the body's natural ability to heal itself. It helps with minor health issues like bee stings, colds, flus, headaches, stomachaches, tension and anxiety, as well as serious illnesses like heart disease, cancer, leukemia, etc. Side effects of regular medical treatments have also been reduced or eliminated, including post-operative pain, depression, and negative effects of chemotherapy. Today, many hospitals offer Reiki as part of their services. The results they are getting, across the board, clearly demonstrate the benefits of this healing protocol.
